Cinema of the Real Laboratory
“SEARCHING CARAVAGGIO”
The Cinema of the Real is the most curious and inventive cinema that can be seen and made. It's a close fight.
between those who film and those who are filmed. The workshop aims to raise awareness of this genre of cinema.
through the viewing of a selection of some important author documentaries, chosen and commented by the
director Francesco Cannavà and, with his guidance and direction, the creation of the screenplay of a
documentary on the two Caravaggio paintings kept in the Messina Museum.
The training course is divided into 12 meetings of 2 hours each, therefore 24 hours of training, during
which will be taught, theoretically and practically, how to conceive – develop and write a
documentary by Cinema del Reale.
If the number of participants allows it, a working group of a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 people will be formed who will have the task of learning the codes of the Cinema of the Real and applying them in writing the screenplay of the
documentary short film with the working title “Searching Caravaggio”.
The cost of the Workshop is €288
