ARB Cultural Association
The ARB Cultural Association was founded in Messina in September 2016, right in the historic center, with the aim of giving the city of the Strait "a magic box, a physical place where aggregation, reflection and sharing are encouraged."
During this year of intense activity, ARB has organized exhibitions, book presentations, film and short film screenings, theatrical and musical performances, language courses, and workshops on social, artistic, and literary themes. The training program "Training Takes Place" has been a great success. It aims to offer professionals and non-professionals the opportunity to enrich their learning experience, acquire knowledge necessary for professional growth, foster dialogue with themselves and others, achieve deeper self-knowledge by overcoming inhibitions, tensions, and constraints, and explore their potential by unleashing their creativity through words, body language, and melody.
ARB also promotes the discovery of the artistic beauty of Messina through the "Messina, a Speaking City" project. Guided walks led by an art historian allow visitors to perceive the common thread that runs from the city founded by the Greeks 2,700 years ago to the "new city" rebuilt after the 1908 earthquake. The association is very active in supporting awareness campaigns on solidarity issues.
In January 2017, she hosted the fundraising event "We are the foreigners, the illegal immigrants" to support the Ai.Bi. Amici dei Bambini project for the reception of unaccompanied foreign minors, involving African minors fostered by families in Messina in the various performances.
From 1 April 2017, the ARB cultural association has been occupying a place for women victims of violence by joining the "Posto occupato" campaign, a collective commitment against femicide.
