Today, July 28, 2022, we were contacted by the organizers of the World Championship. They noticed how and how we organized the first PLOGGING competitions and decided to include the competition on the 31st among the qualifying competitions for the World Championship, which will be held on September 30 and October 1-2, 2022, in the Olympic Valleys of Setriere. The top three finishers in the Messina PLOGGING competition on July 31st

They participate directly in this year's final. Board and lodging are provided by the organizer.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

  • Today, July 30, 2022, at 5:40 PM, the PLOGGING competition jury was called to decide on a change to the rules. Due to some requests received from the athletics community, it was decided to reduce the race course from 4km to 3km, therefore each heat has a total of 6km and obviously the total of the two heats is 12km. Furthermore, the maximum time for each heat has been changed from 40 minutes to 60 minutes. The jury for the PLOGGING competition on Sunday, July 31, 2022 is composed as follows:

    • To register you must:

    1) Download the PDF form, fill it out completely, date it, and sign it.


    2) attach a copy of your identity document, health card, and medical certificate of good health suitable for non-competitive sports, dated no more than one year before the race date.


    3) Complete the online registration form, which includes the date and time of registration, attaching a single PDF or JPEG file with a maximum size of 100 MB.

    The first adult plogging competition will be held in Messina. The race is open to a maximum of 40 athletes and will take place on Sunday, July 31st, in one of the iconic locations of our wonderful city. The start and finish will be on PILONE beach in Torre Faro, and the course is divided into two heats for a total of approximately 16 km. The initiative is conceived and organized by ASD ARB Messina, together with the Italian Sports Center Messina, with the assistance of the Peloritani Radio Amateurs Association, sponsored by the Municipality of Messina, supported by Messinaservizi Bene Comune, and sponsored by: FRANZA GROUP, Framon Hotels which is offering a weekend for two people with half board at the Hotel Carasco in Lipari from September 9th to 11th (value approximately 600 euros) GULLO GROUP, which is offering a watch for the second place (value approximately 300 euros) CASA & PUTIA Slow Food restaurant, which is offering a dinner for two people for the third place (value approximately 100 euros) Registrations are reserved for the first 40 requests that meet all the required parameters and will be completed online by 8:00 am on Sunday 31 July 2022
