The initiative aims to recover and enhance the use of the Sicilian language which finds its

cultural reference in the poets of the Frederician school; Sicilian is a language in which

composite etymologies converge and consider it, as has happened since the unification of Italy in

forward, a simple dialect, forgetting authors like Micio Tempio and Martoglio, so as not to

to say of the Nobel Prize winner Luigi Pirandello, who extensively used the Sicilian language,

means obscuring an important linguistic and identity heritage. As the great

Ignazio Buttitta

"A people

become poor and a slave

when they steal our language

father's advocate:

and lost forever.

Become poor and a servant

when words don't make sense

and they eat among themselves.

I add now,

while tuning the dialect guitar

"I lose a rope every day."
