WRITE THE BODY.

RECOVER YOUR MIND.

POETIC WRITING WORKSHOP

edited by Marietta Salvo

Who hasn't written a poem? Who doesn't have a poem in their drawer? The time has come to explore the realms of emotion. Try to translate thoughts and feelings.

How does the composition and definition of a poetic verse take place?

Can you also play with words?

Can poetry heal pain? Can it tell the story of joy?

How important is the “I” in poetry?

Which poetic 'form' should you choose? And why?

What happens to poetry in our bodies? And in our minds?

It's universally known that poetry cannot be taught. But it can be learned.

In our course project we will explore:

  • What is Poetry.
  • Emotions: the ground zero of poetic writing. How to evoke and identify them.
  • Reading poetry. Beloved poets.
  • Awareness of the tools, reading and rereading, Focus on what can be said in poetry.
  • Poetry and autobiographical experience.
  • Inspirations, memories, and passions. How to transform them into style: from security to fragility, and vice versa.
  • How to organize the poetic narrative and write verses that resemble and transform us.
