The course, lasting 20 hours in total, includes a theoretical part, an analytical part and finally a practical part.
Theoretical section:
- The seven key points of every story
- General approach to character construction
- The protagonist
- The opponent
- The conflict
- The plot
- The twenty-two steps of the classical narrative structure
- How to write scenes and dialogues
- The various formats in use in the current audiovisual industry
- How to pitch an idea to a production house
- Who are the true "authors" behind every film and TV series, often unknown but fundamental, and how do they work?
Analytical section:
- Guided viewing and in-depth reading of the film:
“The Godfather” part one.
Practical section:
- Writing exercises on Pitch, Story and Outline, Treatment and notes on drafting techniques and screenplay formats.
If the number of participants allows, working groups will be formed who will be tasked with writing the script for a 10-minute short film.
The cost of the Workshop is €317
Ideal number of students: minimum 10, maximum 15
Class times: Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm starting April 4th
Total: ten weeks covering the twenty hours of the workshop.
